I was excited about this movie when I heard Chace Crawford was attached to the project...but I just can't with these white people trying to dance. Are you excited about this Footloose remake?

For Colored Girls....
There's been mad buzz around Tyler Perry's adaption of Ntozake Shange’s 1975 play "For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When The Rainbow is Not Enuf"
Some of the hype has been positive, but there has been a lot of negative reactions as well.
I've seen the preview and I'm still interested to see how they fit all the different vignettes into one cohesive, flowing film. I'm eager to see if Tyler Perry can step up to the task.

Boogie Town: Somebody Has To Be Kidding Me, Right?
After a Wiki-spasm(basically where you go on Wikipedia to look up one thing and after a couple dozen clicks end up reading about something totally different) I ended upon the Wiki page for a movie called Boogie Town. Here's the description:
Are you thinking WTF yet?
There was more, but at that point, I was thinking to myself that this movie couldn't be real. It must have been some fake wiki page that somebody made up. Who would come up with such an utterly ridiculous movie plot?
Of course I had to find out more about this movie; lo and behold there's a trailer for this mess:
Are they serious? I absolutely cannot believe this is a real movie!! How low can Marques Houston fall? Supernatural dance powers? WTF?!
Note: I know it says coming out in 2009, but this movie definitely has not been released yet. Could it be shame that is keeping production from releasing this film? I hope so.
"The film is set in in a futuristic New York City in the year 2015, when battle dancing is permanently banned because Chief Salisbury's son was murdered during a battle in 2009 when battle dancing was at its height. Ever since then, with help of the secret government agency SG7, Chief Salisbury has made it his own personal mission to permanently put an end to battle dancing."
Are you thinking WTF yet?
"The film centers on the dancers, Micah (Marques Houston), Natalie (Brenda Song) and Jay (Mykal Anthony Bean). Micah is a very skilled dancer and is the leader of dance crew, "The Trojans" while his former best friend Jay is the leader of "The Warriors". Micah, Jay and their crews have been rivals for a very long time and because of the ban on battle dancing, the crews have created an underground world named "Boogie Town" in order to continue battle dancing. Micah then meets Jay's beautiful young sister, Natalie at a popular restaurant who has just arrived home from college. Natalie, unaware that this is her brother's rival invites him to dinner and he accepts. Soon after the dinner, the two become a romantic couple and after Natalie realizes that her boyfriend is her brother's biggest rival, she tries her best to keep their relationship a secret with the help of Micah. Natalie and Micah become a modern day Romeo and Juliet and are aware of the consequences of being seen having a romantic relationship but are deeply in love with each other. Both Micah and Jay have several mysterious and supernatural powers such as "jerking" and "jooking". Chief Salisbury and the SG7 created a special unit in the police department called the “Boogie Police”, a unit that are specially trained to track down and capture anyone who is caught dance battling in New York. The SG7 is after Micah and Jay because they want to use their blood to create super soldiers for an upcoming war (World War III). ...."

Avatar Movie....AMAZING!!!
I must say, I was sooo impressed by James Cameron's Avatar.
The acting, stellar. The visual effects, stunning. The action, gut wrenching. The plot, predictable. But that was OK because everything else seemed to make up for it.

I loved the gorgeous landscape of Pandora, the planet where the 12 feet tall Na'vi people live. The grass lit up with every step a character took and who hasn't heard about the infamous floating mountains?
Avatar is the story of an injured Marine, transformed into a giant blue alien avatar and sent to a distant planet where he is embroiled in a fight between aliens and humans over natural resources.
It is one of the most expensive movies ever made costing $237 million to make and another $150 million to market. Nonetheless, it continues to bring in revenue both stateside and overseas, it's even close enough to have a chance at breaking Titanic's record as the highest grossing movie of all time!
If you know the story of Pocahontas or Dances With The Wolves, it's a pretty predictable movie plot, but that's not really why I went to see it. I heard the visual effects were amazing and the people didn't lie! I was truly amazed. I saw it in 3D and I could have done without the additional $3.50 technology fee AKA the 3D glasses. I feel like it would have been just as breathtaking in regular 2D. To be honest, the 3D gave me a raging headache and I was alittle lot creeped out by the interspecies lovemaking....but besides that FABULOUS movie. It had everything I like: action, sci-fi, a moral message, and of course romance.
I would highly recommend this film!! You will be touched by the characters, and if not them, then surely experiencing the gorgeous land of Pandora atop a soaring alien bird, will entice you.

Am I the Only One Who Is Grossed Out By Edward?
Robert Pattinson, for those of you who live under a rock, he's the guy who plays Edward Cullen-vampire-of the Twilight Saga. Well, he was just named Sexiest Man Alive by Britain's Glamour magazine.
Really though? Womp
Since it is the British giving out this award, you can't take it too seriously, but homeboy seriously grosses me out He has made multiple remarks about how he doesn't care to shower, and the hair people love so much just seems dirty and unwashed. I never really saw the appeal there so I'm just confused by the whole phenomenon.
Am I missing something here?

Brothers
Ok so I saw this trailer for the movie, Brothers, way long ago but I decided to share it on my blog cause it's coming out in December. WATCH THE TRAILER!!
This movie looks so INTENSE!! Jake Gyllenhaal will forever be my cinematic boo but it looks like Tobey McGuire is out for an Oscar. The last scene is MADD ca-razy and had me literally gasping!! Kind of American History X-ish but without the crazy-ripped Edward Norton...

Takers
(Sorry S)
I just saw the preview for the new movie starring Idris Elba, Paul Walker, Michael Ealy, Chris Brown, Jay Hernandez, Matt Dillon, Hayden Christensen, and T.I.
This movie about a notorious group of criminals who continue to baffle police by pulling off perfectly executed bank robberies definitely looks exciting.
This is the movie that removed C. Breezy from all its promos after the "incident" and decided to just promote Idris and T.I.( a guy in prison right now)for the urban market. To go from having a wholesome image and being on top of the world, to nobody wanting to be associated with you and execs preferring federally imprisoned...that's gotta suck major.
The movie looks pretty good though. However, there were parts that reminded me a little too much of The Italian Job. Hopefully, the plot is decent and with A list actors like Idris and Matt hopefully the acting will be pretty good too. And Maybe C.B. can win back America by the premiere(That's looking pretty doubtful though)

The Princess & the Frog
So the newest Disney movie includes a black princess. I saw a preview a while back and now I thought I would put it on here.
I'm not sure how I should take her whole turning into a frog bit. Can't they just keep us away from animals for a minute? I dunno, am I being too critical?

New Moon Trailer
Here's one of the newest trailers for the Twilight saga, entitled "Meet Jacob Black". Although I've never read any books in this series(and don't intend to) I must say they are doing a excellent job of selling this movie. I've always been on Team Jacob(what can I say, I root for men of color), and I'm glad the second book/movie focuses on his character a little more. Def loving the shirtless scenes BTdubs.
FYI...the reason I just cannot get into the book is its weak female protagonist. Bella finds herself surrounded by strong alpha-type males and soon she struggles to see existence without these men.
She becomes deeply depressed after Edward leaves, and only begins to feel better when she can replace Edward's attention with Jacob's. Plus, I just find her to be boring and not cute. I would like to see more empowered young leading ladies who enjoy the company of a man, but don't fall to pieces after he has left.
Again, I haven't really read the books or watched the entire first movie, but I get the gist...and I'm NOT a fan.

Comic Con Fans FREAKING out Over Shirtless Vampires and Werewolves!!!
These are two sneak peeks at New Moon that were shown during Comic Con. I guess it was a surprise because the females in the audience flipped out. I couldn't help but laugh when the audience went berserk as the vampire and werewolf have a shirtless scene in each clip.
Team Jacob or Team Edward?
