January Jones. As much as I can't stand her character on Mad Men, Betty Draper, love this pic. She is a really beautiful and her cheek bones are quite striking in this pic.
Are you up on Mad Men yet?

Glee Season 2 Premiere

Glee tonight was "eh". I was really hoping the show would get back a lot of the witty humor they had at the beginning of last season, but it seemed they continued on the mediocre note in which the show ended.

Top 3 Things that Stuck Out to Me in Tonight's Episode:

3. Did Mercedes gain weight?
I thought when you got more successful in Hollywood you lose weight, not gain it....I know Gabourey Sidibe got the brunt of the public's attention when it came to obese actresses, but that doesn't mean we forgot about you, Amber Riley. I mean I'm all for various shapes and sizes being represented on television, but I do want to see healthy people(PC version) and not fatty mcfatfats(unPC version)

2. The Top 40/Pop songs
JayZ & Alicia Keys' Empire State of Mind, Lady Gaga's Telephone, Travis McCoy & Bruno Mars's Billionaire....I missed the show tunes and really good old school music that they sometimes sample. Also, I didn't really think they experimented with the songs that much. I'm going to need a little more creativity in the song renditions.

3. Charice
This Philippine singer dubbed by Oprah as "The Most Talented Girl In The World" was a refreshing addition to the cast as Sunshine Corazon. Her voice is AMAZING and Rachel should be worried. This girl is pint sized with a larger than life voice. I don't know what was with the nerdy Asain character they had her playing, but whatever. She was belting out Dreamgirls's Listen, better than Beyonce ever could. I hope I get to see(and hear) more of her this season.

Overall, not really impressed, but Sue Sylvester keeps me coming back with her hilarious one liners. She makes Glee worth it it.

Getting My Gleek On

Glee returns tomorrow evening and I can't wait!! Even though by the end of last season, every single character was getting on my damn nerves, I'm glad they're back and I look forward to a fall season of slushie throwing, beautiful ballads, adults acting like high schoolers, and high schoolers acting like, well, high schoolers.

Still my all time favorite Glee rendition:

What's your favorite Glee song so far?

Mehcad Gives It Another Go

Why does Mehcad Brooks keep signing on for these shows that aren't going anywhere. First it was Deep End, a horribly scripted lawyer drama on ABC, now it's this My Generation, a new ABC show.

It also looks like it won't last more than a season. I wish a lot better for Mehcad than these dull dramas.

I'm willing to bet this show won't last get halfway through the season....thoughts?

Bad Girl Cat...Love Her

Not since Taniesha has there been a Bad Girl that I have liked as much as this season's Catya. She has had so many awesome one-liners:

"Men know their worth. We as women need to know ours".
So true, so true...I've been saying this for forever.

"It's because they're desperate".
In reference to two other bad girls hooking up with losers. I just like that she said it so matter of factly. There was no hater-tude in her statement at all.

I especially love her tantrums because even though she was way out of line, she managed to still look classy. "You gonna disrespect me? me?!" (motioning down her body with her hands in disbelief)

Love her:

Hard Times

I just finished watching an episode of Hard Times of RJ Berger. The show is kind of funny in a crass high school dude sort of way. I'm watching Part 1 of the season finale and as most high school finales of any sort go, it centers around sex. And this RJ dude's quest to get laid. It actually was pretty entertaining.

Still, after all the jokes have been made, you have to wonder is this how men view the world? Every event or situation is just some opportunity for a grand scheme always with the same objective: sex. Do men ever evolve past this? Or are they just hard wired to do anything and everything possible to get "some" ?

Mechad Brooks on The Deep End

ABC has this new show, The Deep End, which is about first year junior associates straight out of law school who work at a prestigious law firm in Los Angeles. Very Grey's Anatomy-esque.

I will tell you, I only decided to watch the show because Mehcad Brooks is in it and homeboy is so fione.

He may be better known from True Blood as Eggs or from Desperate Housewives as the son in the only black family on Wisteria Lane(why they had to be crazy as hell, I still don't understand) Mehcad is a gorgeous man and a truly talented actor, whom I can't wait to see him from. Unfortunately, he didn't show up on The Deep End until about 3/4ths of the way through the pilot episode and he received-at most 45 seconds of screen time. Womp.

I hope next week his character is utilized fully and that the writers make him a dynamically fascinating character, because the show isn't that great to begin with, and I don't know if Mehcad can carry the show all by his beautiful self.

Hottie of the Moment

While trying to find something to watch online yesterday, I stumbled across Grey’s Anatomy. Now I haven’t seen the show since Izzie started having sex with ghosts, so I can’t really say what was going on, but I do know there were some new doctors in town. One being a really sexy new intern(maybe):

I’ve seen him in Beyond the Break and cozying up with Alexis Bledel on Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, and I must say: he is making Grey’s Anatomy seem tolerable again. I wonder what his nickname is…McSexy maybe, ooh or McFinenessok ok I don’t know what his name/nickname on the show is, but McDamnYouLookGood almost made me start watching the show again.

But then the screen went to someone whining about their life choices or some doctor-couple who don’t go together(Christina & that soldier/doctor dude) discussing their relationship in the workplace(totally unprofessional)—and I had to change to Parks and Recreation.

Sigh. Jesse Williams really is good looking though.

Glee Moment of the Week

Mercedes(the black girl) can belt it! I really don't get why they try and say Rachel has the strongest voice. Ugh white people and their mainstream mentality.

Am I the only one that doesn't feel it's right for Mr. Schuester and the guidance counselor to get together? I mean... she's crazy and he's already got one off-the-rockers wife. (I mean, what kinda insanity makes a woman think she can fake a pregnancy and get her husband to believe some other baby is his?)

Get Up on Glee Already

Just in case you're not up on Fox's Glee yet, I'm putting in one of my favorite clips from last weeks's episode.

I think I'll just be inserting my fav scenes from each weekly episode so look forward to that.

This show is hilarious!! I've rewatched this clip about 3 times now and I still laugh. Plus all the Glee memembers have some serious pipes. True talent and I'm happy to watch/hear it.

I Kinda ♥ Tools

Now I will admit VH1 reality shows are sort of my guilty pleasure, but I'd never even heard of Tool Academy, so I was surprised to learn that it was on its 2nd season. And I must say it's been a long while since I've been so genuinely amused and disgusted all at the same time. This show makes the girlfriends look almost as bad as their tool boyfriends.

These guys get caught on camera doing some of the most ridiculously gross things, they then see their girlfriends crying over it, and stare blankly at them. Or if the guy feels really cornered he might start stammering about how much he loves his girl. Right.... what a tool.

I always feel so embarrassed for the girlfriend cause she really should just dump him right quick, but I guess that doesn't make good TV--a bunch of single douche bags.

Urban Dictionary defines a tool as:

A person, typically male, who says or does things that cause you to give them a 'what-are-you-even-doing-here' look. The 'what-are-you-even-doing-here' look is classified by a glare in the tool's direction and is usually accompanied by muttering of how big of a tool they are. The tool is usually someone who is unwelcome but no one has the balls to tell them to get lost. The tool is always making comments that are out-of-place, out-of-line or just plain stupid. The tool is always trying too hard to fit in, and because of this, never will. However, the tool is useful because you can use them for things; money, rides, etc.
"Let's drive to Chicago from Iowa. Oh man, we need money. Hey, let's ask tool to come, he'll spot us the cash!"

But what really gets me is how these women allow this type of toolish behavior. Sure, I understand they love these men and want to be with them forever(really don't understand that but whatever), but I just find it hard to believe that his show can have any long term impact on a man's behavior.

I don't understand why women are so afraid to be by themselves....they'd rather be with an insecure, sad specimen of male that they keep trying(and failing) to change. We(being women) can't change men, we can only encourage them to grow and hope they will make the positive changes themselves.

However, I'm sure it will be entertaining to watch the buffoonery these guys put their girlfriends through and maybe one of the ladies will realize they can do so much better.

New This Fall on the CW

So as the summer winds down, I've been seeing commercials for this Fall's TV lineup. I am extra interested in what they have line up new for the CW, and I must say I was a tad bit disappointed....but just a tad.

Melrose Place 2.0-

Now I have never seen the original, so I won't be able to make any complaints about this revamped version failing in comparison as I can with 90210, but I can say this show looks waay intense from the previews. Sometimes I just have to wonder: "Is all that drama necessary?" I guess so or who would watch? Peep Ashlee Simpson Wentz(still trying to have a career) and that Greek guy from Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. Is that girl far right supposed to be their token? SMH

The Beautiful Life: TBL-

Executive produced by Ashton Kutcher, this show apparently revolves around aspiring models living together in New York city. I'm sure it will be ripe with sex, drugs, and beautiful skinny white people. Again with all the drama... Familiar faces are Mischa Barton and Corbin Bleu. I see you trying to shed your Disney image. He still managed to look gayzer for the 5 seconds he was in the preview.

And why they always gotta put the people of color on the edge of promo pics? I mean can I see some darker faces?! It doesn't even have to be black people. I'll take an Asian or a real Hispanic.

The Vampire Diaries-

Oh Lord....It's Twilight, but weekly and with the potential of lasting for years....
I'm so over this whole vampire craze. Can we move on to something like unicorns or mermaids or centaurs? Just anything that doesn't involve irritating chicks and deadpan pale dudes.

I hope the CW won't be making a habit of importing Canadians off Degrassi either. First Annie from 90210, now this main girl, Nina Dobrev(the girl with the baby who inadvertently caused J.T. to get stabbed in the back).

Sadly, Everybody Hates Chris and The Game will not be returning to the CW, which means even less diversity on the network. So sad...I really loved that show. However, I have heard that BET is trying to pick up the The Game in order to go for a fourth season. Major brownie points for BET if they can make this happen.
